Class D Security License Training Course


In the State of Florida, any individual who performs the services of a security officer must have a Class D security license.  In order to obtain the license, you are required to undertake a 40-hour training course provided by a security officer training school.  All training schools must be licensed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing.  Royal Protection & Security is licensed as a security officer training school (license number DS1800039).

  • 40-hour program, over 4 consecutive days, covering all topics required to obtain a class D security license, including: -

    • Florida State Statutes Section 493​

    • Legal issues and liabilities

    • Ethics and professional conduct

    • Report writing and interviewing

    • Terrorism awareness


  • Potential employment at end of course with leading security company

  • $10.00 course fee discount for those with military/law enforcement background

  • If subsequently employed by Royal Protection & Security for a consecutive 90-day period, on successful completion of course, training course fee will be repaid to you

  • Top student with highest test score (1 from each course) will have their license fee of $97.00 paid (fee is payable separately to Division of Licensing and is not included in the course fee)

  • Assistance with completion of security license application
